Ahhh, motherhood. It really is a joyful time.

It’s also HECTIC, EXHAUSTING, and totally ZAPS any hopes of relaxation you have in a day (unless you count sleeping 2 hours relaxing).

The good news is that it doesn’t take a trip to the spa or a line of expensive products to pamper yourself. All you need is a trip to the grocery store, an hour alone (this can surely be arranged with Mr. Mom), and a tub. Before you know it, you’ll think you’ve died and gone to Bliss.

Rosemary Herbal Bath:

1/4 cup dried, crumbled sage
1/4 cup dried, crumbled rosemary
2 tablespoons of oatmeal
2 tablespoons of dried parsley
2 tablespoons of coarse bath crystals

Grind or thoroughly mix the ingredients together and secure in a muslin or cheesecloth bag, and tie so that your “tea bag” hangs directly beneath your flowing bath tap. Fill your bath with warm water. The bath’s ingredients will relieve mental fatigue (rosemary), treat loss of concentration (sage), soften water (oatmeal), and stimulate the body (parsley).

This inexpensive steam bath is the perfect hour-long escape.
