Cold and flu season means more visits to the dreaded pediatrician (unless he gives out lollipops, that is). And your child might be a bit frightened to see the doctor. So what’s a mom to do with a sick, scared kid? Here are 5 tips to help you help your child.
1. Educate in simple language. The unknown is scary. Explain to the best of your abilities (and in kid-friendly language) what your child will experience. Not sure? Don’t be afraid to ask the nurse what general procedures might be performed. And don’t beat the subject into the ground; you might cause more anxiety.
