Homemade Honey Lemonade

honey lemonadeBy Katie Sullivan Morford, MS, RD

Whether you’re sipping it on the porch or helping your toddler run an old-fashioned lemonade stand, nothing says “Summer!” like this sweet-tart drink.

9 1/2 cups water, divided
1 cup honey
1 cup sugar
2 cups lemon juice (about 12 large lemons)
Ice for serving

Pour 2 cups of water into a small saucepan and set over medium-high heat. Add honey and sugar, and cook, stirring regularly, until sugar dissolves, 2 to 3 minutes. Fill a pitcher with remaining water and lemon juice. Add sugar-honey syrup and stir well. Refrigerate until cool. Serve over ice.
