The first lady of France, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, and husband President Nicolas Sarkozy, welcomed their first daughter together today in Paris.
Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, 43, gave birth at 8 p.m. to their daughter at Clinque de la Muette hospital, where she arrived earlier in the day.
Although Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and President Nicolas Sarkozy have not officially release their daughter’s name, The Telegraph is reporting that they named their daughter Dahlia.
The couple each have children from previous relationships: Carla Bruni-Sarkozy has a son, and President Nicolas Sarkozy, 56, has three sons.
Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and President Nicolas Sarkozy’s new daughter has already made history. She is the first child in modern history to be born to a French presidential couple in office. The last child born to an active French leader was to Napoleon in the 1800’s!
Congratulations…or should we say, Félicitations!
