Actress Charlize Theron, who most recently appeared in the movie Young Adult, has adopted a baby boy, her publicist has confirmed.
“She is the proud mom of a healthy baby boy named Jackson,” her rep said in a statement.
Charlize Theron hinted at the possibility of a baby in August, when she told Germany’s In Touch magazine: “I want a baby. If it would happen tomorrow I would still be very happy about it.”
While Charlize Theron, 36, who is a native of South Africa, has spoken out about her desire to have a baby, she said she doesn’t feel the need to add marriage to the mix.
Marriage was “never something that was important [to me],” said Charlize Theron, who was in a relationship with fellow actor Stuart Townsend for nine years before the pair split in 2010.
