Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. welcomed their new little girl into the world over the weekend.
In a statement to People, her rep said that Gellar and Prinze “welcomed their daughter Charlotte Grace Prinze on Saturday, Sept. 19. The family is over the moon.”
The former “Buffy” star, 32, and Prinze, 33, met in 1997 on the set of “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” They married in 2002 after dating for two years.
Before she announced her pregnancy in April, Gellar told “Access Hollywood” that she felt it was important to wait for the right time to start a family. why she felt it was important to wait for the right time to start a family. “When we do have children, my husband and I will have such a strong foundation because we’ve given our relationship time to grow,” she said. “I try to go into everything with an open mind, but it’s much more than I thought it would be. The partnership grows to such a different level. And all my life, it was just my mom and me, us against the world; so to let someone else in and to have another partner was hard for me. Now he’s my partner, my best friend, and my husband.”
Gellar recently filmed a pilot for HBO, “The Wonderful Maladays,” and Prinze will start as Agent Cole Ortiz in the upcoming season of “24.”
