From a California press release:

Much of today’s popular music contains lyrics inappropriate for children, while actual kids’ songs tend to lack pop music’s rhythm and beat. Jeff Schneeweis is hoping to redefine both kids’ music and distribution through his newest project The Kids’ Way.

Children are constantly exposed to mainstream, popular music through radio, television, movies, and internet.  While the beats may be catchy, many parents are uncomfortable with the idea of their children singing along to these suggestive tunes.  The American Academy of Pediatrics has stated that the effect popular music has on the behavior and emotions of children and adolescents is of paramount concern.

“My kids like the stuff that’s on the radio, Top 40 stuff…they actually connect to that more than they do regular kids’ music.  The problem is the content in popular music is not the best for kids.  With this project, I want to create music for kids from age 2 to 11 that is like Top 40 where they can really relate, dance to it and have fun with it, but also has good, inspiring lyrics for them to grow as human beings,” says Jeff Schneeweis, creator of The Kids’ Way.

Today, Schneeweis launched a crowd-funding campaign via Kickstarter for his children’s music project, entitled The Kids’ Way.  In addition to the musical offering, The Kids’ Way incorporates an element of humanity by encouraging backers of $20 or more to share the music; giving these contributors a second set of each item within their chosen package to give away to a friend.  The project boasts an innovative way to spread The Kids’ Way music – USB bracelets made to wear and share. The album will also be available for digital download for backers of the campaign. Funds are to be used in the production and marketing of The Kids’ Way album.
